Lots of veggies coming in!

Posted on by Tim Livingstone

The warm weather has really given the crops a jump.  There was a little rain last week which helped as well. Our onions are currently the best looking crop I've seen.  We are planning to start setting up irrigation for them tomorrow.  For the next few weeks they need 1" of water per week.

We are harvesting tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, raspberries, and lots of other things.  Our first beans are ready too.

Sweet corn is about 25 days away from harvest.  The very first silks are just starting to show.

Our squash was seeded about 3 weeks later than usual due to the wet spring, but it looks like it is only about 2 weeks behind now so I'm hopeful that it will catch up and we will still have a decent squash crop.

Fennel is loving the heat and the melons are too along with our celery and a new kind of celeriac.

Our regular potatoes look really good as well but we have no irrigation where they are so we hope they will make it through the dry spell without stressing. We also hope to have new potatoes ready for this coming weekend.

More beef and chicken will be available shortly.  We sold out of last year's supply and the new supply is almost ready.

This has been a rewarding journey so far for our family. We have yet to be able to eat all that we collect each week! I'm in awe of your efforts, it's a lot of fun to read your blog and look forward to Thursdays!

It's especially fun to watch how early your produce is coming in! We are learning lots from watching you that we will try to improve upon for our community garden for next year.

Your food is delicious and we love doing business with you!
